Payday Filing

You must file now your employment information each payday instead of filing an Employer monthly schedule (IR348) every month.

From 1 April 2019 all employers must:

  • File employment information every payday instead of a monthly basis (i.e. if you pay employees weekly, you must file weekly);

  • Need to provide new and departing employees' address information, as well as their date of birth; and

  • File employment information electronically (from payday compatible software or through myIR) if your annual PAYE is $50,000 or more.

Note: The due date for PAYE payment remains the same at the 20th of the month.

What if I do not change to payday filing system?

Payday filing is currently compulsory from 1 April 2019 and all employers must opt-in to avoid IRD charging penalties if you do not switch.
